As members of AFGE, we have always stood for more than just the interests of those within our ranks — we stand for the communities we serve and the families who depend on us. Operation Warm, sponsored by AFGE District 7, gives us the opportunity to live that commitment by providing brand-new coats and shoes to children in need right here in our own neighborhoods. Union solidarity has never been confined to the workplace; it is a way of life rooted in compassion, dignity, and the belief that every person deserves a fair shot. When a child walks into school warm, confident, and properly equipped, that is union values in action. Supporting this effort costs little but means everything to a family struggling to make ends meet. As federal workers who understand what it means to fight for people who cannot always fight for themselves, let us extend that same energy to the children in our communities.
